What Happens at Camp?
The Camp Theme for 2015 is “Super Scouts” and our Super CIT’s will be guiding the girls through a fun week where girls will discover their inner super powers and developing their super hero persona.
Campers are assigned to a unit of 12 – 14 campers going into the same grade. Each unit has one adult Unit Leader and 2-4 CIT’s (Counselors In Training – High School age girls). This group stays together for the entire week so the girls bond and make new friends. Our program staff of adults and Program Aides will assist the Unit Leaders with a variety of activities during the day. The girls will have activities throughout the day, with a little down time built in to just have fun with their unit. They will come home tired and excited at the same time, looking forward to coming back the next day.
New for 2015: Program Aide unit. Our girls entering 8th grade will have a new experience at camp as they prepare to move out of the camper role. Part leadership, part skill building, and part camper fun, these girls are ready for a new challenge and will be well prepared for their new roles as C.I.T.’s the following year. Includes an off-site field trip in the middle of the week. PA’s will also spend the night at camp on Wed & Thursday night. Only 12 girls will be accepted to the PA unit. If more than 12 girls apply for this unit, a phone or in-person interview will be conducted with each girl.
Will it be Fun?
Yes, of course!!! All week long the girls will participate in age appropriate nature, craft and skills activities. There will be opportunities for Archery, Outdoor Cooking, Nature Activities, Hiking, Girl Scout Skills, Arts & Crafts, Singing, Making New Friends and MORE!!
We have an all camp event planned for Friday afternoon to close camp on a high note. There will be a circus themed lunch followed by an afternoon of wide games. This is a time for the entire camp to come together and celebrate their accomplishments at camp and being Girl Scouts.
